Long term growth (5-10 years) of capital by investing in a range of securities and asset classes in domestic markets. Short term growth ranges from 12-18 months in length and is measured in preserving capital. Downside protection is a top priority.
• Intrinsic value
The Veracity Group emphasizes a strict definition of intrinsic value, tying it to actual book value or liquidation to find an appropriate margin of safety. To find a security that is attractive, we analyze it for a suitable margin of safety, then we review our assumptions of the market price of a publicly traded security as well our private benchmarks.
• Discount position
The appropriate discount required and position size falls into several categories including, but not limited to: the quality of business, quality of balance sheet, ability for intrinsic value growth, quality of management, liquidity/free float, dividend payout and concentration/quality of shareholders.
